The Strike Zone

Most predatory game fish detect their prey with their lateral line long before they actually see them. Once detected, the distance the game fish will travel to strike their prey is called the strike zone. This strike zone increases when game fish detect an injured or struggling baitfish.

This is the fundamental reason we designed the Loony Spoon, to make a lure that relies less on various colors to attract the fish and more on a unique crippled baitfish action that game fish detect and strike from greater distances.
